WTI’s Sidewinder and HD Sidewinder Camera Displayed at NAB and FDIC Trade Shows.

WTI’s SD Sidewinder and HD Sidewinder cameras were recently on display during two trade shows in April: the National Association of Broadcasting (NAB Show) in Las Vegas and The Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis.

Frontline Communications (
http://www.frontlinecomm.com/) WTI’s exclusive distributor and partner for Broadcast, Command and Communication vehicles displayed the Sidewinder cameras which were installed on the command vehicles in their booths during each exhibition. Frontline Communications is an industry leader in the field of manufacturing custom broadcast/communication vehicles and mobile command centers. Their main headquarters are located in Clearwater, Florida and they are a subsidiary of Oshkosh Corporation and a sister company of Pierce Manufacturing.

Only the Sidewinder HD (High-Definition) was displayed at the NAB show this year. This camera drew quite a lot of attention as show attendees marveled at the camera’s flexibility high definition picture.

WTI’s HD and SD (Standard Definition) are both great for broadcast vehicles and tower cams; especially the HD Sidewinder which allows viewers to see high resolution broadcast video with a notably sharper, crisper and cleaner picture – regardless of what type of television monitor (HD or standard) they view the video on.

Some of the great features of the HD Sidewinder camera are:
· Continuous 360° pan rotation with ± 90° tilt;
· 0.05° preset repeatability accuracy;
· High definition 1080i/720p;
· 16:9 widescreen format;
· 10X optical zoom lens;
·
Hydrophilic (TiO2) "self cleaning" glass window ;
· ENG option – Locks pan-tilt motion during vehicle travel;
· HD-SDI option – SMPTE 292 high-definition serial digital interface output.

WTI’s Sidewinder 720 (standard definition version) was on display on top of the mast of a command vehicle at the FDIC show this year. This application is great for finding the “Hot Spots,” getting a better/closer view of emergency situations and critical areas. This detailed information allows timely communication to the frontline.

The Sidewinder 720 has been installed on Police vehicles, Fire Trucks, Fire Command vehicles and is a great application for all emergency type vehicles. It is also used as a Tower Cam for broadcast stations with video being transmitted via fiber optic cable, wireless or differential hard wire. The Sidewinder is also a great outdoor security and highway camera.

The Revolutionary Sidewinder Pan / Tilt / Zoom Camera features 360° continuous unlimited pan and tilt camera rotation with 0.05° preset repeatability accuracy!

In addition, the camera technology utilized in the Sidewinder employs a newly developed 35X optical zoom lens with 520 lines of resolution and electronic image stabilization. The Sidewinder also features day/night DSP camera technology that delivers vivid color images during daylight and high sensitivity monochrome images during nighttime.

Other features include:
·
Hydrophilic (TiO2) "self cleaning" glass window;
· Day/night DSP camera technology;
· Optional camera enclosure pressurization;
· Network and video encoding options available;
· ENG option – Locks pan-tilt motion during vehicle travel;
· SDI option – SMPTE 292 high-definition serial digital interface output.

Both HD and 720 Sidewinders support up to 64 different presets and 8 tours with 32 presets per tour. All WTI’s cameras have a Protection Rating of IP-67/Nema-4X.ASTM-B117 (entire camera).

WTI is very proud to be an ISO 9001:2000 certified company!

WTILogoSmall

2004 - Present

In 2004 WTI made the decision to get ISO certified and by the end of 2004 WTI had obtained ISO 9001:2000 certification! Our recent ISO re-certification in 2007 is a reflection of our continued efforts to maintain our quality objectives while making the best product in the most efficient way possible.

ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies. ISO 9001:2000 replaces ISO 9001:1994. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.

WTI’s ISO 9001:2000 Certification means that both Production and Engineering Departments are certified under the ISO umbrella. ISO 9001:2000 is a strategic decision by WTI’s top management to adopt a Quality Management System.

WTI believes that the ISO 9001:2000 has impacted the following:
· Customer satisfaction.
· Repeat business & referral.
· Costs & cycle times through effective and efficient use of resources.
· Alignment of processes which will best achieve desired results.
· Competitive advantage through improved organizational capabilities.
· Understanding & motivation of people towards WTI’s goals & objectives, as well as continual improvement.
· Confidence of interested parties in the effectiveness and efficiency of WTI, as demonstrated by the benefits in WTI’s performance, product life cycle, and reputation.
· Ability to create value for both WTI and its suppliers by optimization of costs & resources as well as flexibility.

ISO2010

Being an ISO-9001:2000 certified company means that an independent third party validates the entire Quality Management System (QMS) every three years and audits one-third at least once a year. Engineering systems for design/test/manufacture, corrective/preventive action requests, equipment calibrations, etc., are all properly accounted for. With all this in place, a new customer can feel confident that the products that reach them have been well thought out and thoroughly tested.

The proof is in WTI’s customer satisfaction and subsequent referrals.

Was Morgan Hill (a City in Northern California) a ‘Dry Run’ attack by Terrorists?

CyberTerror
Was this attack similar to the Northwest Flight 327 (http://bobmccarty.com/2007/05/30/flight-327-termed-a-dry-run-for-terrorists/) a few years ago, a “dry run” by terrorists who wanted to see how officials would respond?

A Cyber-Attack on an American City

Bruce Perens writes “Just after midnight on Thursday, April 9, unidentified attackers climbed down four manholes serving the Northern California city of Morgan Hill and cut eight fiber cables
(http://www.mercurynews.com/localnewsheadlines/ci_12106300?nclick_check=1) in what appears to have been an organized attack on the electronic infrastructure of an American city. Its implications, though startling, have gone almost un-reported.”

It is amazing – after a person’s house gets robbed they install a security system! This is the same thinking that is going to get into serious trouble. Lax infrastructure security is endemic in the United States and most of the world. This time it’s not going to be terrorists flying jet airplanes into buildings; it’s going to be much easier targets that the people responsible have failed to take the necessary precautions.
